Q.: Who can take part at the project team
A.: The participation is opened, as member of the team, to people other than architect; the team leader must be a registered architect
Q.: Age limit for participation
A.: It is possible to participate if less then 35 at the registration time; this condition is valid for every component of the project team
Q.: Request of material: maps and photos
A.: Maps and photographs of the area are now available for downloading on the competition WEB site
Q.: Inscription procedure
A.: It is possible to enter ONLY filling in the on line registration form, that will be available at the opening period of the telematic procedure. NO other sort of inscription (email, mail, fax, etc.) will be accepted
Q.: It is possible to submit more than one project?
A.: NO, it is not possible.
Q.: Technical request
A.: Not later than the end of February 2008 all the technical information about the PDF document and the registration and submission procedures will be published on the WEB site

Q.: How long time the pavilion will remain in the indicated site after the construction?
A.: About 2 months. Then it will be dismounted and remounted by the Torino Municipality in another site in the city territory (not defined)
Q.: Does the covered surface include the outdoor area?
A.: Yes, the maximum surface (80-100 sqm) include the outdoor area
Q.: It is allowed to design more than 100 sqm of floor area?
A.: Superior limit is 100 sqm
Q.: Space for each activity
A.: The designer could assign for each activities sqm as their convenience
Q.: Is there a preferential orientation inside the location?
A.: It all depends on the concept proposed from the designers, the most important aim is to give more visibility as possible to the info point from the whole city.
Q.: Material to be used
A.: Designers are encouraged to select and to propose the material they want for the info point. Anyway, it is recommended to use some material provided by the title sponsor of the Congress. The list of the suggested material is downloadable on the section DOCUMENTS of the competition WEB site
Q.: Material to be used. What does it mean: "that no raw materials will be used"? What kind of materials are not allowed to use? Could some parts of the materials be not eco?
A.: The most of the selected materials for the infopoint have to be recyclable or recycled. We expect the competitors to select materials, their choices are part of the competition itself
Q.: What are the contents of exhibition (panels, models...)?
A.: The exhibition concern the UIA activities, panels and visual materials showing what happened all around
Q.: Generally speaking, how many people is going to be user of coffee room, exhibition area, storeroom, press area?
A.: The daily transit could be around a several hundreds of people
Q.: Have the project to have any influence on the neighbourhood of the infopoint-like for example sitting places, green area, and so on?
A.: Yes, the info point has to be an element open to the city, communicative in the point of view of “transmitting architecture”.
Q.: Can the toilets be chemical?
A.: Yes, they can
Q.: It is possible to accommodate the toilet facilities off site?
A.: It’s not possible to use external toilets, the info point has to be autonomous and independent
Q.: Does the structure have to be airtight "étanche"?
A.: It would be better to use natural ventilation
Q.: How many internal staff will there be working during the day at the info point?
A.: Every day there will be around 10 people of the staff
Q.: The project could be made previously and presented in case it has the specifications determined in the competition notice?
A.: The proposed ideas have to be originally. The more detailed the project will be, the easier the judgment
Q.: What kind of technical equipment is needed for "radio UIA"? And how many people are going to work there?
A.: There will be present a box sized 1.5x3.0 m, inside there will be all the necessary equipment for two people

A.: In the framework of this competition Radio UIA is GMA-Radio: www.gma-radio.com
Q.: Detail about the sanitary equipment
A.: The info point has to be a temporary structure, also toilets has to be the same. Generally, it’s not possible a connection with the municipal sewer system
Q.: Detail about lighting system
A.: It’s possible to present a suggestion for external lighting system, but it’s not a main request of the Competition
Q.: What is the press area?
A.: The press area is a place for journalists with internet connection, where they can work together
